The Amendments to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants on listing three categories of POPs, including polychlorinated naphthalenes and the Amendment to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants on listing three categories of POPs, including short-chain chlorinated paraffins(hereinafter referred to as the Amendment)were approved in Dec 30,2022.The Amendment came intoforce from Jun 6,2023.This Amendment stipulates the elimination or restriction of five POPs, including hexachlorobutadiene, polychlorinated naphthalenes, pentachlorophenol and its salts and esters, decabromodiphenyl ether,short-chain chlorinated paraffins.
