This act specifies the registration of industrial chemical introducers, classification and assessment of industrial chemicals, assessments initiated by the competent authority, the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals, information, reporting and confidentiality, enforcement and administration, international agreements and arrangements. It is applicable to activities related to the production or import of industrial chemicals (including substances in mixtures, polymers, and intermediates) for commercial purposes in Australia, except for exempt situations.
