This document specifies the assessment of metals and alloys intended to come into contact with food, including the scope, specific usage restrictions, definition of food contact suitability standards, technical requirements, testing methods, etc. The appendix lists specific release limits and testing conditions that metals and alloys must comply with. It is applicable to uncoated metals and alloys, metals and alloys with metal coatings (nickel, tin, chromium, etc.), or organic-coated metals and alloys intended for food contact.
