On October 23, 2026, the General Department of the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration (NDCPA) issued the Notice of the General Department of the NDCPA on Issuing the 2026 Annual Plan for Disease Prevention and Control Standard Projects (Guo Ji Kong Zong Fa Gui Han [2026] No. 250), publishing the 2026 Annual Plan for Disease Prevention and Control Standard Projects, which arranges a total of 53 standard projects. All 5 mandatory national standards (GB) fall in the disinfection field, covering the labels and instruction books of disinfection products, antibacterial and bacteriostatic lotions, and medical instrument disinfectants, among other contents. Enterprises that manufacture or market disinfection products need to pay close attention to the revision progress of the relevant standards.

Overview of the Plan

The plan this year covers nine major categories, namely infectious diseases, parasitic diseases, endemic diseases, environmental health, school health, disinfection, disease prevention and control information, injury prevention and control, and others. Each project specifies its name, project category (formulation or revision), the number of the standard to be revised, and the first drafting organization. By standard category, the 53 projects are mainly health industry standards (WS/T), totaling 44, together with 5 mandatory national standards (GB) and 4 voluntary national standards (GB/T).

ChemRadar Insights

Inclusion in the annual plan means that the relevant standards have entered the formulation and revision procedure. Before the revised standards are released and implemented, the current standards such as GB 38598-2020 remain valid, and work such as the design of disinfection product labels and instruction books, hygiene and safety evaluation, and filing should still be based on the currently effective versions.

Enterprises concerned are advised to keep following the drafting, public comment, and release developments of the above standards, assess in advance the impact of the revisions on product packaging labels, instruction books, and market placement documents, and reserve time for the corresponding adjustments.
