South Korea Publishes the Revised Notice No.2023-27 for Public Comments

On May 11, 2023, the Ministry of Environment of South Korea released a revised draft No.2023-27 concerning the Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. The Ministry of Environment now publishes this revised Notice No.2023-27 for public comments.

Major changes

  • Hazard classification and label of toxic substances have been added in accordance with its hazar assessment results:
    6 hazard classifications and labels have been revised, such as 3, 5-difluorophenol; and
    Substances with number 2023-1-1110 to 2023-1-1115 have been added.

  • Chemical classification and labeling of hazardous substances have been revised:
    Classifications and labels of 28 hazard substances have been revised; and
    Classifications and labels of methyl chloride and hexafluoro-1,3-butadiene have been added.

This Notice may come into effect from its publication. Hazardous chemicals in this Notice shall be managed under the K-REACH from the publication of this Notice to January 1, 2024.
