GHS Classification Search has added a new country: New Zealand!

Time: Sep 27, 2024

The Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act (HSNO) in New Zealand is established by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) of New Zealand, primarily for the management of hazardous substances in the country. In accordance with the HSNO Act, all hazardous substances produced or imported into New Zealand must undergo a stringent approval process. Therefore, the EPA ensures that manufacturers and importers of hazardous substances obtain the relevant HSNO approvals before marketing their substances, use correct labeling, packaging, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and ensure that the content of hazardous substances in their products is within the permitted limits (and free of prohibited substances).

The New Zealand HSNO Act applies to the importation, production, use, transportation, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals, mixtures, or products.
