On September 3, 2025, the Australian government issued a notice under section 82 of the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019 (IC Act) to add one industrial chemical—five years after an assessment certificate was granted—to the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals, while simultaneously withdrawing approval for two other industrial chemicals to have their proper names treated as confidential business information (CBI).

  • 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, 2-[2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethoxy]ethyl ester, polymer with phenylmethyl 2-methyl-2-propenoate and trimethylsilyl 2-methyl-2-propenoate, 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-(1-methylethylidene)-3,5-dioxa-2,6-disilaheptane-initiated, hydrolyzed, potassium salts (CAS Number: 3094219-85-6)
  • 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, phenylmethyl ester, polymer with trimethylsilyl 2-methyl-2-propenoate, 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-(1-methylethylidene)-3,5-dioxa-2,6-disilaheptane-initiated, hydrolyzed, potassium salts (CAS Number: 3094220-20-6)
