South Korea's Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment announced the partial amendment of the Priority Control Substances designation (Public Notice No. 2025-125) on July 21, 2025, with the revised regulations set to take effect on August 7, 2025.

The amendment aims to strengthen oversight of chemicals with potential hazards, requiring companies to file declarations prior to the production or import of products containing designated priority control substances. Under the notice, both hydrates and anhydrides of the designated substances fall within the scope of regulation, further refining the control framework.
