Update of Japan GHS Classification - FY2025 (Reiwa 7) Results Released-Jul 28, 2026

On July 3, 2026, the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE) officially published the GHS classification results for Fiscal Year 2025 (Reiwa 7), jointly reviewed by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and the Ministry of the Environment (MOE). This update covers a total of 142 chemical substances, including 59 newly classified substances and 83 substances subject to reclassification and review.

Of note, on July 23, 2026, NITE identified upon further review that the classification result for benzoic acid (CAS: 65-85-0) had been omitted from the initial publication. The omitted entry has now been supplemented and republished.
