Introduction of GCIS
Paints and Coatings for Food Contact Materials and Articles(GB 4806.10-2025)"(https.//www.chemradar.com/lawinfo/detail/ez70s5t7oykg) is one of China's national food safety standards. It was issued by the National Health Commission in September 2025 and will come into effect on September 2, 2026. This standard extends control to paper coatings and coatings that have indirect contact with food but may have migrating components, clarifying the "dual responsibility" of both producers and users to manage risks throughout the entire process. The list of basic raw materials has been expanded from 105 to 346 types, with newly added limits on the total migration of aromatic primary amines and optimized migration testing methods for metal can coatings.
