Introduction of GCIS

Issued by the National Health Commission in September 2025, it will come into effect on September 2, 2026. This standard specifically targets materials and articles primarily composed of silicone elastomers formed by cross-linking polysiloxane polymers with hydrophobic silica, which are intended to come into contact with food under normal conditions of use. It applies to silicone tableware, pacifiers, baking molds, and similar products, and specifies safety requirements including raw material specifications, overall migration limits, volatile substances, and sensory criteria.
