Notice issued by the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment on 4 September 2026 announces a new food-related product that has passed technical review by the Expert Review Committee: “C.I. Pigment White 4, polymer of hydrogenated dimer of C18 unsaturated fatty acid and 1,6-hexanediamine, polymer of isophthalic acid with terephthalic acid, dimer of unhydrogenated C18 unsaturated fatty acid, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, diethylene glycol and trimethylolpropane”. Public consultation is open, with the deadline for comments set on 6 October 2026. The corresponding two food contact materials have been included in the list of China-National Food Safety Standard-Plastic Materials and Products for Food Contact (GB 4806.7-2023) for reference.

Update of the China-National Food Safety Standard-Plastic Materials and Products for Food Contact (GB 4806.7-2023） – Extension of Application Scope for One Additive and Addition of One New Additive for Food Contact Materials and Articles

On 21 July 2026, the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) issued a notice announcing new varieties of food-related products that have passed the technical review by the Expert Review Committee: C.I. Pigment Black 7, and the reaction product of N,N’-di(octadecanoyl)ethylenediamine, homopolymer of azacyclotridecan-2-one and 1-isocyanatooctadecane.
This assessment proposes to extend the scope of application of the above two substances, and public comments are now invited. The deadline for comment submission is 19 August 2026.

Update of the China-National Food Safety Standard-Plastic Materials and Products for Food Contact (GB 4806.7-2023） – Extension of Application Scope for Two Additives

This supplementary update covers the permitted additives and their corresponding specifications for food contact plastic materials and articles listed in Appendix A of the National Food Safety Standard – Standard for the Use of Additives in Food Contact Materials and Articles (GB 9685-2016), as well as new varieties of additives and raw materials for food contact plastic materials and articles announced in subsequent official notices.
