Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 specifies safety requirements for plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food in the European Union, migration limits for substances used in such packaging, conditions of use, requirements for the manufacture and sale of plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. This regulation is a specific measure referred to in Regulation (EU) 1935/2004 concerning materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. It is applicable to: a) materials, articles, and components made of plastic; b) multilayer plastic materials and articles combined by adhesion or other means; c) materials or articles in a) or b) with printing or coating; d) plastic films or coatings forming part of closures or other sealing articles molded inside, consisting of materials of two or more different types together with the closures or sealing articles; e) plastics in multilayer composite materials or articles.
