This regulation specifies the theme, scope, and definition of recycled plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food; general requirements for placing recycled plastics, materials and articles on the market, plastic recycling and recycled plastics use; development and marketing of recycling technologies; authorization procedures for specific recycling processes; information required for registration and control; official controls; compliance documentation; and final provisions. It is applicable to plastic materials and products that come into contact with food, originating from or made from waste; the development and operation of recycling technologies, processes, and devices to produce recycled plastics for these materials and products; the use of recycled plastics and products intended to come into contact with food; and plastics materials and products expected to be recycled when they come into contact with food.
