On April 28, 2025, the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) announced that two industrial chemicals have been formally added to the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals (AIIC). This decision, made following the completion of a 5-year assessment period as mandated by Section 82 of the Industrial Chemicals Act of 2019, marks the culmination of long-term monitoring and evaluation of these chemicals' safety.

Details of the newly listed chemicals:

Chemical Name

CAS Number

Specific information requirements

Listing date

D-Glucopyranose, oligomeric, 2-ethylhexyl glycosides

161074-93-7

Obligations to provide information apply. You must tell us within 28 days if the circumstances of your importation or manufacture (introduction) are different to those in our assessment.

April 17, 2025

The addition of these chemicals reflects the Australian government's stringent approach and ongoing commitment to the scientific assessment of industrial chemicals. By ensuring that the safety of all industrial chemicals is scientifically verified and transparently documented, AICIS aims to protect public health and environmental safety while supporting industrial development. Moving forward, AICIS will continue to dynamically update the AIIC to respond to new scientific findings and market changes.
