Pakistan List of Prescribed Hazardous Substances
In January 2024, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination of Pakistan (MoCC) published the 'Draft Hazardous Substances Rules, 2024'. This draft aims to strengthen the regulation of the import, transportation, licensing, and safety standards of hazardous chemicals. Currently, 242 chemicals have been designated as hazardous substances, including various industrial chemicals, pesticides, and pharmaceuticals. According to new regulations, any enterprise involved in the import or transportation of these hazardous substances are required to obtain an official permit.
