Taiwan, China Mandates SDS Reporting for 20 Chemicals, Deadline End of March

The Ministry of Labor of the Taiwan region of China issued a notice on January 28, 2026, announcing the supplementary operation data reporting instructions for priority-managed chemicals for the year 2026. In accordance with Article 12 of the Regulations for the Designation and Operation Management of Priority-Managed Chemicals, the notice requires relevant enterprises handling specific chemicals to complete the supplementation and reporting of additional operation data within the specified period. This aims to accurately assess and control the exposure risks associated with priority-managed chemicals.

According to the notice, the Ministry of Labor has identified a total of 20 chemicals for which this supplementary reporting is required in 2026. This includes pure substances and mixtures containing these substances at a concentration exceeding 1% by weight. The additional operation data mandated for submission is the Safety Data Sheet (SDS). This requirement is intended to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the hazardous properties and usage conditions of these chemicals, thereby improving risk assessment and safety management.

The Ministry of Labor stated that it has preliminarily identified the list of relevant operators by reviewing the 2025 reporting data for priority-managed chemicals. Eligible operators will be notified directly via official written documents or email.

Operators who receive the notification must complete the upload and reporting of the SDS files for the relevant chemicals via the designated platform by March 31, 2026, following the data format and method announced on the platform.
