On February 21, 2024, the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE) in Japan updated the classification list under the hazard general knowledge of chemicals based on GHS -- Labelling and Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Seven substances are involved in the update. Currently there are 3,327 substances on the list.
Substances affected by the amendment are as follows:

| 102-81-8 | 2-(Di-n-butylamino)ethanol | used as a curing agent for polyurethane foams and silicone resins, a corrosion inhibitor in lubricants and hydraulic fluids |
| 95-65-8 | 3,4-xylenol, also known as 3,4-dimethylphenol | used as a starting material for phenolic resins |
The primary goal of the GHS system is to further protect human health and the environment during the handling, transport, and use of chemicals by classifying the hazards of chemicals and providing guidance for unified labeling and SDS.
Note: GHS Classification Result by the Japanese Government is intended to provide a reference for preparing a GHS label or SDS for users. To include the same classification result in a label or SDS for Japan is NOT mandatory. In other words, Enterprises can cite or copy this classification result when preparing a GHS label or SDS. However, please be aware that the corresponding responsibility lies with enterprises. This means that companies can display different classification results in labeling or SDS based on other documents or test results based on actual conditions.
