Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and Ministry of the Environment (MOE) have jointly published the FY2024 GHS Classification List on the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE) website. This advisory list, issued in July 2025, provides industry reference for 43 newly classified substances and 143 substances with revised classifications.
The list reflects Japan's ongoing alignment with the UN GHS Purple Book (Rev.9) and serves as a non-mandatory technical guideline for chemical hazard communication under the Industrial Safety and Health Law (ISHL).
