In July 2026, the National Institute of Chemical Safety (NICS) of South Korea issued an advance notice (legislative notice) on a partial revision to the Hazard Review Results of Chemical Substances, proposing to newly disclose the hazard review results of 84 existing chemical substances, revise the information of 6 new chemical substances (including correction of misrecords), and add the hazard assessment results of 6 new chemical substances. Comments are accepted until July 30, 2026.
Some of the substances covered by this revision were determined, through hazard review, to be human acute hazard substances, human chronic hazard substances, or ecological hazard substances. The determination results will serve as the basis for enterprises to conduct chemical registration and notification in South Korea, prepare Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels, and fulfill their hazardous chemical substance management obligations.
Chinese enterprises that have new chemical substance notification or existing chemical substance registration business in South Korea are advised to promptly review the hazard review and assessment results published this time, verify the hazard classification and safety management requirements of the substances concerned, and make compliance preparations in advance.
