The Indian Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers intends to impose strict management on the quality of Polypropylene (PP) using for moulding and extrusion and Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) homopolymers in accordance with the Bureau of Indian Standards Act (No.11 of 2016), which will be published in the Gazette of India. PP and PVC will be included to products under compulsory certification in accordance with the Quality Control Orders.

In accordance with the latest quality control order. The inclusion of PP and PVC to Indian BIS is to guarantee its legal manufacture and import to India and provide safe and reliable products. Therefore, it is necessary for enterprises to understand whether their products need to obtain BIS Certificate.
