Recently, Zhejiang Emergency Management Department issued a notice deploying the safety supervision of five newly added hazardous chemicals, including 3-chloropropyne, requiring relevant enterprises in the province to obtain a hazardous chemical work safety license or renew their business license by July 31, 2026.

The notice implements the Notice on Earnestly Conducting the Safety Supervision of Five Hazardous Chemicals Including 3-Chloropropyne (Letter No. 159 [2026] from the  Emergency Management Department) issued by the General Office of the Zhejiang Emergency Management Department. The five chemicals - 3-chloropropyne, 2-iodoxybenzoic acid, p-nitrobenzyl 2-diazoacetoacetate, methanesulfonyl azide, and 2-nitro-3-methylbenzoic acid - were previously included in the Catalogue of Hazardous Chemicals (2015 Edition) through an announcement by the Ministry of Emergency Management and nine other departments. The notice requires emergency management departments at all levels to, in accordance with the Classification Information Table for Five Hazardous Chemicals Including 3-Chloropropyne, guide relevant enterprises and the public in understanding the hazardous properties, safety requirements, and emergency response measures of the five chemicals, to organize baseline inspections, and to strengthen safety supervision of relevant enterprises.
