The Indian Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers recently announced a temporary suspension of mandatory quality standard requirements for Morpholine (CAS No. 110-91-8) from April 1, 2026, to July 1, 2026, due to global supply chain disruptions.
The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, issued a revised notification stating that during the above period, enterprises are not required to comply with the applicable Indian standards.
The decision was made in consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to ensure a stable supply of Morpholine, a key chemical widely used in various industrial sectors such as rubber and pharmaceuticals as an important production raw material.
The Indian government stated that the suspension of quality standards is a short-term response measure aimed primarily at preventing supply chain disruptions and helping to stabilize the market. The government also emphasized that this adjustment is temporary, and the standard quality requirements are expected to be reinstated after July 1, 2026.
