On October 24, 2025, exercising powers conferred by Section 16 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, the DCPC in India revoked the Quality Control Orders for the following three chemicals:
- Acrylonitrile (Quality Control) Order, 2022 - S.O. 1646(E)
 - Maleic Anhydride (Quality Control) Order, 2022 - S.O. 1644(E)
 - Styrene (Vinyl Benzene) (Quality Control) Order, 2022 - S.O. 1645(E)

This revocation, made after consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), took effect immediately upon issuance. These three QCOs, initially issued in April 2022, mandated BIS certification for the manufacture, import, and sale of these chemicals within India. With the revocation of these QCOs, manufacturers of the relevant chemicals will no longer need to apply for a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) or use the Standard Mark on their products.
